- What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?
I was born in Arles, Southern France, and I began to sing and play guitar at a very early age because I was discovered by Nicolas Reyes, famous leader singer from the Gipsy Kings, who are from my hometown. During my teen years I travelled across all of Europe, and lived in the UK for 5 year. I then returned to France before going to Germany. There, I had the idea to create my proper music style to leave my own trace. The Gypsy guitar stays in the game but with more modern Pop electro rhythms. The Gipsy Kings were singing in Spanish. I sing in English.
2. What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?
First of all, I make my music for everyone. My music is universal. It has no borders, no language, no financial barriers, and no skin color. Also my music is genuine and I am not trying to be someone I am not. I believe honestly that the the audience is smart enough to know that. I am listened around the world, and people are often writing me or telling me that my music makes them happy. That´s something which makes my music stands out from many other aspiring and upcoming artists.
I think music must be an entertainment and people want to escape from their life when they listen music. That´s my aim when I compose and when I record.
3. If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?
I would probably choose Ed Sheeran.. He is a big star but he doesn´t behave as such. His texts are beautiful, and I think we would do well together. Maybe not with Luca Dazy also. He is the boss of Bentley Records, the record label from New-York City, which signed me a few months ago. Luca Dayz is an award winning singer and he sounds like Michael Jackson. I love his voice.
4. What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?
Well, I was an indie artist. Now I am signed but still, I have conserved my liberty, which means, I can release nearly what I want when I want, and how I want. For me, the biggest advantage of being indie is to be your own boss. You can work without any pressure from anyone.
5. Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?
I liked my time as an Independent but now that I am signed I am happy to have a whole team behind me who can support me whenever I need in different aspects of my work. Bentley Records is also a Major record label, really. It is international and they just won an Award for being the ”best international record label in the world for 2020, by the Acquisition International Magazine in London, UK. I prefer to be signed because music is my job, my business, and I am not anymore fighting along with thousands and thousands artists around the globe. I am fighting but fighting and being signed is different.
6. Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?
I can´t tell. The fact is I will always be wanting to do better and for me the best is to come, so I can´t prefer a song out of the songs I have released before. But I would choose “Are we Happy” that I have recorded featuring Georges Reyes, the son of Nicolas Reyes, famous leader singer of the Gipsy Kings. The song is on Spotify, and all other streaming platforms and of course, Youtube.
7. Do you miss the era of CD sales OR do you prefer the new wave of music streaming? Explain…
I used to love the CDs, but music steaming music is good too. The music becomes more and more immaterial but streaming has environmental consequences as well, of course. I am just hoping that in the future, accessing music will a neutral gesture for the planet. Maybe a new technology will be born.
8. Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
I love creating and the studio time in general. I am alone and I can deeply think and work. The magic takes places first in my studio. Performing live on stage is very nice also, but I have no right to make mistakes. I do not want to disappoint people. I want everything to be absolutely perfect. In my studio I can stay a few weeks working on a song, but a concert goes on for 1hour a half. I have more pressure performing live on stage but I make the job, I really enjoy it.
9. During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?
At the beginning when I received the first insults. It was not even constructive critics I got hurt a lot. I didn´t know yet how some people could be able to write terrible things in the Internet. But I learned to not to take this kind of things personally. It doesn´t happens often, fortunately, but if It happens, I don´t get hurt anymore. I like the constructive critics though; if they are good ones which permit me to do better.
10. What would you consider your most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?
When I heard my music on the radio, or when my song “Thirsty” was on MTV USA. And also, when I saw a video of people dancing on my songs in clubs in the USA. That´s a great feeling.
11. If any, what discourages you the Most about music industry these days?
I don´t get discouraged. Of course, there are things about music industry which are not so good, but I don´t really have time to think about it. I must carry on and like I say all the time, nothing comes from nothing. I work a lot, and I think about the future.
12. What inspires you the Most about the music industry these days?
What would inspire me… Well, when an artist share his music…if people love it, it makes the tour of the planet in a day. That´s amazing. The internet makes easier for artists, I suppose. That´s a good thing about 2020. It´s fast. It´s really fast.
13. If you wasn’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?
When I was younger, my aim was to change the world. I understood that I could maybe not, but what I believe, it is that I can change people´s life. Then I would a writer, because books can change people´s life. Like music.
14. In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?
In my local area, nothing is happening at all. But fortunately airplanes exist.
15. What is your latest release and where fans can find it?#
My latest release is a song where I featured Georges Reyes, who is the son of Nicolas Reyes, leader singer of the world famous Gipsy Kings. The song is on Spotify, Youtube, everywhere.
16. What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2020?
I am release soon the first single of my debut album and I prepare an international tour. The first concert of that tour will be in Granada, Spain. I will communicate the dates soon.
