1. What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?
My father and mother is the reason I decided to jump into the music industry. I grew up watching my father and mother perform at church and they would throw backyard family bbq’s and perform for the family. I sung in the choir for some time at church and then I began to write and produce my own gospel songs. I would travel with my pastor at the time and perform my songs. I had a best friend that knew how to sing and a extended family member that also knew how to sing so we formed a gospel group called “ God’s Blessings”, and we performed for different churches and perform for a local tv station. I decided to switch to R&B because I took interest in trying something different. But gospel will always be my first entry to making and producing music.
2. What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?
My unique style makes me stand out. I think that my music represent the way I am feeling in the moment. I believe that originality plays a big part when it comes to making music and I try to sound different in other terms be in my own lane.
3. If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?
I would love to collaborate with Brandy. I have been a fan since I was a kid and I have always been mesmerized by her singing. The way she harmonies the vocal control and every song touches me in different ways. I would love to work with her amongst others.
4. What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?
I think that my biggest advantage right now is having freedom to create and experiment without external influence. I am able to have control over when I release music, choosing who I think would be fit for the record. My disadvantage are that I have limited resources making it challenging to invest in marketing and promotion.
5. Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?
I prefer the Independent route. I think that I should be able to create what I want and release music when I think it’s time. I am very protective over my craft and music career and I refuse to have others make decisions for me.
6. Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?
I think the best song I’ve produced is Keeping Secrets featuring the talented singer-songwriter Knzie. I was inspired by an old school song my mother and I used to love singing together called “In the Rain” by The Dramatics. And so, I did my version of it and reached out to Knzie and the song was born.
7. Do you miss the era of CD sales OR do you prefer the new wave of music streaming? Explain…
I myself was a CD collector. I still think distributing CD’s is good way to market yourself. Music streaming however, has made releasing music more exciting in my opinion. The music streaming services makes it easy for you to see how many people have streamed or watched your music videos in real time. I think both options are great for putting music out.
8. Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
I enjoy being in the studio. It has been a while since I have performed and now that I am focused on just creating music behind the scenes being in the studio has been my priority.
9. During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?
I think that everything that happened to me regarding my music was only a learning lesson. There was a time when I was just starting out writing R&B songs and I was told that my songwriting wasn’t at the level as the songwriters out. Of course anyone would get discouraged but I decided to channel my energy into my music production.
10. What would you consider your most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?
I think my most proudest moment was performing my original music and the crowd knew my song word for word at church. Since then I knew I could captivate people with my music.
11. If any, what discourages you the Most about music industry these days?
I think that anyone who takes interest in being apart of the industry has to know the business side of music. Being prepared and well educated in the field you choose will keep you for any wrong doings or bad business deals. You also have to keep your circle small and watch everything that goes on with you and your team.
12. What inspires you the Most about the music industry these days?
What I like about the industry nowadays is that there are more platforms being created for up and coming artist to share their music.
13. If you wasn’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?
I have always had different things I was into so I would be involved in film/tv production. I love the idea of being behind the creation of a video and music production.
14. In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?
Im from New York City so the music scene is very competitive right now. Every artist/producer is trying to make their way in the industry. I am just happy to be apart of the music creation.
15. What is your latest release and where fans can find it?
My latest release is called “ D.R.A.W.M.H (Don ’t run away with my heart)” featuring Solojane. You can stream it on all music platforms under Tiffany Love
16. What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2024?
To create my first album and get TV/Film placements. Collaborate with more talented artist and continue to make great music.
