StreetWave Media presents an exclusive interview with Hip Hop, Originator of Kitchen Cook Rap artist & CEO, J-Tip located in Bloomington Illinois (Midwest). J-Tip is the CEO of “Tip Top” record label.

1. What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?

Music was always my escape from the everyday struggle ya know so I knew from early on that this was what it was. No plan b.

2. What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?

We ain’t out here glorifiying rats. Thats pretty original nowadays. Im serious though. We bringing honor back.

3. If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?

Slash from Guns and Roses he’s looks like he got it all figured out and he’s a musical genuis a icon. Respect

4. What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?

Biggest advantage is it’s all you but the disadvantage is it’s all you.

5. Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?

I was just telling my man Co Illa we staying independent unless we go broke after that we better

start trying to sign an major…so stay tuned.

6. Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?

Everyone of them any of them all of them. Im deadass we something special.

7. Do you miss the era of CD sales OR do you prefer the new wave of music streaming? Explain…

I miss the CD era. My first lick was Columbia house CD penny thing. Just the excitment of taking that wrapper off and reading the cover classic.

8. Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?

At the studio just doing whatever you do to get creative is what bring the god bars out of me.

9. During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?

The people who just wanna make a quick buck and dont even care about the

culture so they lie, cheat, and steal our art.

10. What would you consider your most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?

I would say starting my own label most defiently.

11. If any, what discourages you the Most about music industry these days?

The over saturation of music nowadays. Nothing is original anymore.

12. What inspires you the Most about the music industry these days?

Calculated Cons, Co Illa, Tip Top as a whole brand keeps me inspired. Oh yeah anything Griselda.

13. If you wasn’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?

Trying to hustle my way into the music bussiness somehow. No plan b.

14. In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?

On the rise I guess. I know if I go we all going.

15. What is your latest release and where fans can find it?

Be on the lookout for Top Of Your Brain Tip Of Your Tounge. Early March.

16. What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2022?

Just stayin sucka free and growing this brand. Remember you ain’t at the top unless your at the tip top.
