What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?
Music has always been apart of my life and my family and just seeing how it can bring people together, I knew that it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?
My sound is different I believe it’s not what people are listening to. It’s real R&b music with a mix of new school with a 90’s vibe. I think that is what makes me standout on top of I talk about relatable topics.
If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?
Brandy!!!! She is the blueprint for singers even if I can’t sing with her on a record just being able to write for her my life would be complete. As well Donnell Jones, Jon B, Joe just a lot of the greats and legends.
What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?
As an indie artist the advantages I have is that I do what I want, I put out the music I want, I’m able to write my own music, and I’m able to create on my time. The disadvantages are just not having the machine to back you as far big budgets and marketing you know.
Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?
I’ve been indie so I would love to stay indie with a major distribution deal just so I can still have control, but if a major deal comes along and I feel like it’s right then I could go major as well.
Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?
I have so many amazing songs that I’ve released that I feel was my best at the time I wrote because of what I was going through at the time, but as of today it would be my new single “WWYD feat. Magic Gretzky” because it’s a summer vibe and it’s just a feel good song but also very relatable.
Do you miss the era of CD sales OR do you prefer the new wave of music streaming? Explain…
I do actually, I feel it was more excitement when a CD or Tape came out.
Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
Recording is probably my favorite because your allowed to just express yourself and come up with some amazing music.
During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?
For me I think it’s when you don’t feel supported or that your not doing enough and then you feel like no one likes your music I think that’s the hardest but then you gotta realize everybody is not gonna like all your music and you ultimately have to follow your gut and put what you feel is quality music and let that be that.
What would you consider your most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?
I remember when I first started my indie career it was like my first single ever and I was living in New York one of my friends ask me to perform for her event and I did and when my song “Good Love” dropped everybody in the building new the song so that was pretty dope.
If any, what discourages you the Most about music industry these days?
Nobody is making with substance to me it’s all about sex, drugs, money you know what I mean and it’s a lot of indie artist such as myself that make amazing music but still get overlooked you know.
What inspires you the Most about the music industry these days?
The hunger to bring the vibes of 90’s back to today era. Real Music especially r&b music and just to also bring a new sound to the industry.
If you wasn’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?
Customer Service because I love people. I’m definitely a people person.
In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?
Oh it’s lit. I’m Atlanta so music is very prominent here.
