1. What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?
I decide to get into the music business because I had deep love and passion for making music. I also wanted to inspire and uplift people. I had so much I wanted to say the only way I know how to get it out was music.
2. What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?
I think the fact that I don’t want to just make music that is relevant. A lot of artist only doing what is hot right now. I strive to make music that is timeless and I am not afraid to be my self which is very important to me.
3. If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?
I would love to collaborate with Lauryn Hill definitely. Also Bone thugs n Harmony who are major influences and my favorite group of all time. Kendrick Lamar as well.
4. What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?
My biggest advantage of being indie is doing things on my own terms not being marked down by a label. Disadvantage is harder to get noticed with out that major backing have to work a little harder but its worth it.
5. Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?
I prefer the independent route because there is more ownership in being independent. As far as a major label go I don’t think I would sign unless the deal was right because I fill a major lable would try to change everything about me that makes me who I am as an artist.
6. Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?
That’s a hard one but I believe my best song is What About Justice because people really relate to that song and every time I perform it gets the highest praise people just love it.
7. Do you miss the era of CD sales OR do you prefer the new wave of music streaming? Explain…
I don’t miss the era of CD sales although people still buy them but prefer music streaming because its easier for more people around the world to access your music streaming is the way.
8. Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
I love the Stage and connecting with the people. But I would say creating in the studio because I am a songwriter before anything there is no better feeling then hearing my words come together and hearing and feeling the end result that’s the best feeling in the world to me.
9. During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?
My worst experience would have to be when a internet radio station basically dissed my music and tried to figure out the reason I do music that was a low point because he basically told his listeners I do music because I heard a bunch of people do it I didn’t care that he did not like the song the problem was him making up reason why I do what I do.
10. What would you consider your most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?
My proudest moment of my music career would have to be when I found out I had people listening to me overseas and when I found out that there are people out there that is getting inspired by my music and using it for motivation makes it all worth it.
11. If any, what discourages you the Most about music industry these days?
The most discouraging thing about the music industry is it seems like everybody want you to sound like everybody else if you don’t sound a certain way some people act like they want mess with your music.
12. What inspires you the Most about the music industry these days?
The most inspiring thing is there is people out there that wants to hear a variety of artist and music styles so there is room to get in and make your mark and you never know when its your turn or your song becomes that major hit
13. If you wasn’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?
If I wasn’t in music I would probably be doing some type of creative thing writing, acting, movie directing. Something in the creative arts range
14. In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?
We have a lot of hot artist in my area rappers and singers honestly if artist in Chicago unit and stick together we can take over the music scene I mean legends come from there.
15. What is your latest release and where fans can find it?
My latest release is an R&B ep entitled T Law’s Harmony it features an appearance from R&B artist Unique Soul you can find it on soundcloud.com/t-law-1
16. What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2020?
In 2020 you can expect a lot more music I have another ep dropping in August called T Law’s Bars I also have a joint album coming out with rapper Karizmatik called Music Reborn. I am also featured on Karizmatik’s ep Solidified Vol 1 which is out now and I will be on Solidified vol 2 which is dropping soon so just be on the look out people lots of good things coming from me and my crew.
