1. What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?
It took us a year of living together, watching/idolising awesome bands like Highly Suspect and Biffy Clyro on repeat to realise we could, and should form a band. Even though we went to University together, we never actually met until Oscar became homeless and ended up sleeping on Kyle’s sofa for over a year.
We then realised that there weren’t enough bands out there that really resonated with our music taste. So we decided to do something about it and make our own.
2. What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?
First of all, we’re heading into space, and that’s not a figure of speech. In July, as part of its Lunar CATALYST program, NASA is firing our upcoming song ‘Towards Space’ to the moon, where it will stay forever, serving as a time capsule of Earth’s present-day culture for future generations.
Spacefaring aside, we think we have quite a unique sound. We try to write as boldly and as honestly as possible, and we like to take risks. Not that other bands don’t, but sometimes you listen to upcoming bands and think they all sound exactly the same. We think we have a unique blend of atmospheric textures, moody bass, emotive guitar, and striking vocals.
We’re also collaborating with legendary rock producer Chris Coulter, who famously produced the Arcane Roots album ‘Melancholia Hymns’, of which two singles featured on Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’. So that’s a huge advantage for us.
3. If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?
Local Littlehampton legends ‘Gloo’. They’re a sick band and their pop-laced punk would sound awesome alongside our stratospheric, atmospheric alt-rock noise.
4. Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?
Our most popular single and most widely acclaimed is ‘The Colour of the Sun’, and we also love this track. It’s a genre-bending, eclectic romp featuring spoken word verses, powerhouse rock choruses and stringed crescendos. What’s not to love!
Having said that, our next release ‘Heartstrings & Irreplaceable Things’ is an absolutely fantastic song and we cannot wait to share it with our fans.
5. Do you miss the era of CD sales OR do you prefer the new wave of music streaming? Explain…
Who doesn’t miss having tonnes of random CD’s sprawled out across their room and car?
6. Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
It’s magic when everything comes together in the studio after months of songwriting. However nothing quite beats performing live. If this year has made us realise anything it’s that we really miss playing small, intimate gigs with our friends and fans watching.
7. During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?
Totally f*cking up our new song on stage. We all had no idea what was going on. Oscar actually stopped playing. It was a shambles. Still funny though.
8. What would you consider your most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?
Most successful moment was probably securing Chris Coulter to collaborate on our tracks. He takes our recording to the next level. Proudest moment would undoubtedly be NASA taking our song into space, which is scheduled to happen in July.
9. What inspires you the Most about the music industry these days?
That it’s now possible for anyone to write, record and distribute music, no matter what the background or skill level.
10. If you wasn’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?
Training to be astronauts.
11. In your own opinion, What is the current music scene like in your local area?
There are some great bands on the south coast, we just hope the awesome music venues down here bounce back better than ever.
12. What is your latest release and where fans can find it?
‘With Broken Pieces’ on all the usual platforms like Spotify, YouTube etc. The song is a pop-rock power ballad that balances nostalgic verses with a huge anthemic chorus. We love it.
13. What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2021?
Expect to see us shoot for the moon (literally); launch new songs that will blow you away, and if things return to ‘normal’, shoot some fun music videos for our new tracks. That, and have a few beers with our friends and fans as we rock out live. That will be enough for us!
